KATZENELLENBOGEN KNIVES
For a customer, who is himself an artist, we were asked to make 12 table and 12 desert knives.
Cutlery is one of our passions, and getting the right balance of design and function is critical. We hand carved the patterns in boxwood and cast the silver handles in two halves. They were the first job we welded together rather than soldered, thus achieving a seamless join. The blades were bought black (unfinished) from one of the last working cutlers in Sheffield, we braised them to the handles and shaped, ground and polished them ourselves.
